Dr. Leilania (Lani) Lafrance

Dr. LaFrance earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She joined the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary Clinic Ltd a month after graduating. She became a partner in the clinic with Dr. McCartney in 2010.

Dr. LaFrance took her pre-veterinary medicine studies at the University of Alberta where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majoring in Animal Science. She has 3 pointers: Dinger, Bones, and Goods.

Dr. Monica Bosnyak

Dr. Monica Bosnyak earned her veterinary degree from the University of Calgary. She was part of the first graduating class of 2012. She joined the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary Clinic Ltd in May 2012 and has bought in as a partner with Dr. LaFrance in April of 2016.

She grew up knowing she always wanted to be a vet just like her grandfather. She has an interest in small animal orthopedics and dentistry and has focused her studies in those areas since graduating from Veterinary Medicine.

Beyond work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children and doing agility/water trials with her Portuguese Water Dogs Micah, Aryeh, and Keziah. When she has the opportunity, she enjoys travelling and summiting mountains such as Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu.

Erin Butz, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Erin has been with the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary Clinic Ltd since May of 2002. She currently works as a registered veterinary technologist and the office manager. Erin grew up on a farm in the Fort Saskatchewan area and has worked at the clinic since before graduating from the Registered Veterinary Technology program at NAIT in 2003. Erin has a Labrador retriever named Macey.

Amy Tarrant, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Amy started at the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary Clinic Ltd in the spring of 2011. Prior to joining the clinic, she volunteered at the Edmonton Humane Society. She attended NAIT where she graduated from Registered Veterinary Technology May 2011 with honours. Amy’s pets are Brynn, Sophie, Neeka, and Oliver Newton.

Sharon Doll, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Sharon grew up on a cow/calf farm outside of Beaumont. She graduated from the Lakeland College Animal Health Technology Program in 2004. She has worked in both mixed and small animal practices. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, curling, spending time with family. She looks forward to working with your furry family members!

Shasta Grundberg, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Growing up Shasta always pictured herself becoming a vet, but life had a different plan. Shasta was a funeral director and embalmer for five years; a career that taught her compassion and patience. The passion for veterinary medicine was relit when she began work with a compassion dog named Morris who worked with her at the funeral home. Shasta graduated with a 4.0 GPA from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in 2019 and joined the team at the beginning of 2020. As a technician Shasta has a passion for dentistry and phlebotomy.

She has two dogs; a corgi x collie named Maverick and border collie x lab named Asana. Her hobbies include reading, hiking and expressing herself through makeup.

Ryley Patriquin, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Ryley graduated with distinction from the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland College in 2020. She grew up on a beef farm near Thorhild and was involved in 4H for many years. She enjoys spending time with her shih tzu Annie and cat Phoebe, helping on the farm, crafting and reading.

Natalie Quijano Acosta, Receptionist

Natalie has worked in a veterinary office in Ontario prior to moving to Alberta in 2014. She now lives in Fort Saskatchewan and enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Kida.

Jessica Welch, Receptionist

Jessica Welch is so pleased to have joined the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary team and begin her career working with animals.  An animal lover since birth, Jessica loved helping wrangle horses and look after cattle on her grandparents farm.  Jessica plans to enroll in NAIT’s Veterinary Medical Assistant program and one day buy an acreage home for her Arabian Alphie and her cat Marble.

Tara O’Brien, Support Staff

Tara is working as a support staff alongside our vets and techs. She has previously worked in small animal and equine hospitals before moving here, from Ireland, in 2015. She lives with her 2 children and her bulldog Izzy and Staffordshire terrier Nova. She loves working with animals and has a huge heart for bulldogs.

Mollie Harris, Weekend Staff

Mollie has worked with and trained dogs for many years and enjoys competing in dog agility competitions. She has three dogs Griffin, Maisy, and Picante who all compete in this sport. Mollie is a hopeful veterinarian and has been accepted into the animal sciences program for the fall 2021 semester.
