Dr. Leilania (Lani) Lafrance

Dr. LaFrance earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She joined the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary Clinic Ltd a month after graduating. She became a partner in the clinic with Dr. McCartney in 2010.

Dr. LaFrance took her pre-veterinary medicine studies at the University of Alberta where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majoring in Animal Science. She has 3 pointers: Dinger, Bones, and Goods.

Dr. Monica Bosnyak

Dr. Monica Bosnyak earned her veterinary degree from the University of Calgary. She was part of the first graduating class of 2012. She joined the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary Clinic Ltd in May 2012 and has bought in as a partner with Dr. LaFrance in April of 2016.

She grew up knowing she always wanted to be a vet just like her grandfather. She has an interest in small animal orthopedics and dentistry and has focused her studies in those areas since graduating from Veterinary Medicine.

Beyond work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children and doing agility/water trials with her Portuguese Water Dogs Micah, Aryeh, and Keziah. When she has the opportunity, she enjoys travelling and summiting mountains such as Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu.

Erin has a Labrador retriever named Macey.

Ryley Patriquin, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Ryley graduated with distinction from the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland College in 2020. She grew up on a beef farm near Thorhild and was involved in 4H for many years. She enjoys spending time with her shih tzu Annie and cat Phoebe, helping on the farm, crafting and reading.

Jade Lauder, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Jade is one of our new Registered Veterinary Technologists and is pleased to start her career here at Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary Clinic. She is recent honours graduate of the Animal Health Technology program at Olds College.  She has a passion in dentistry and brachycephalic breeds (especially pugs!)  After work, you can find her chasing her pug puppy, Eleanor. She is excited to meet and work with your furry friends!

Kory Einarson, Registered Veterinary Technologist

Kory began as a volunteer with the Fort Vet Clinic in 2006 as kennel staff. Loving the clinic, she graduated from the NAIT Animal Health Tech Program with honours in 2014. Since, she has dabbled in small animal medicine, emergency medicine, and even tried human medicine before returning to her true passion for animals. Kory keeps busy with her husband,  two little boys, two dogs, and cat. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, reading, and travelling.

Jessica Welch, Receptionist

Jessica Welch is so pleased to have joined the Fort Saskatchewan Veterinary team and begin her career working with animals.  An animal lover since birth, Jessica loved helping wrangle horses and look after cattle on her grandparents farm.  Jessica plans to enroll in NAIT’s Veterinary Medical Assistant program and one day buy an acreage home for her Arabian Alphie and her cat Marble.

Amanda Sharp, Receptionist

After working with law enforcement, Amanda decided she wanted a career change and came to work at the clinic as a Veterinary Assistant. She’s had dogs her entire life and is particularly passionate about providing your pet with the best quality of life up until the end and strives to make the difficult end of life situations easier for clients and patients. In her down time, she can be found in the kitchen baking or out exploring the world with her partner (Mitchel) and pointer (Jäger).

Tara O’Brien, Support Staff

Tara is working as a support staff alongside our vets and techs. She has previously worked in small animal and equine hospitals before moving here, from Ireland, in 2015.
